Itinerary
Day 1 :
We will pick you up from you place of stay at 8am and drive north to Nanyuki town with a stop-over at the equator line. We will pick up the necessary provisions and driver further north to Sirimon gate 2650m where we shall have our hot lunch. After the paper work, we will start our hiking to Old Moses camp 3300m where we will spend our first night. Our chef will serve us the freshly prepared dinner before we retire to bed. The road passes through a belt of rain forest, a belt of short thick bamboo forest before opening up to the moorland.
Day 2 :
Having taken our early breakfast, we will start the long journey to Shipton camp 4200m. Hot lunch will be served at some point, deep inside the moorland. You will reach the camp for the much-awaited rest early in the evening. The path today passes through some peculiar plants including the Ostrich lobelia, ground sel, giant lobelia among other plants which are only endemic to Mt Kenya. You will be served with an early dinner and retire to bed early.
Day 3 :
Being the summiting day, you will be woken up at 2am. After some tea and a handful of snacks, we will attempt Pt Lenana (4985m) at 3:15 am for the African sunrise. After a short photo session, we descend back to the camp for breakfast. We will retrace our footsteps back to Old Moses camp for the night.
Day 4 :
After an early breakfast, we descend back to Sirimon gate where we meet our driver and continue to Samburu game reserve. Stay at Heshima camp.
Day 5 :
Full day game viewing in search of the big 5 with lunch picnic lunch in the bush. Return to the camp by 6:30pm.
Day 6 :
After breakfast, drive back to Nairobi arriving by 5pm where the tour ends.
